WHILE THEIR ERA VENTURE PARK HERE, LOCATED ABOVE THE GREENSBORO SCIENCE, AN ISSUE. >> WE HAVE 7 DIFFERENT COURSES THAT GUESTS CAN TRY OUT RANGING FROM BEGINNER COURSES UP TO ADVANCED COURSES. THERE'S A LOT OF VARIETY FOR ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF PEOPLE OUT HERE. ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF OBSTACLES THAT YOU CAN DO AND THEY ARE FIRED BY ANIMAL MOVEMENT SERIES SWINGING ARE GOING TO BE LEAPING. YOU'RE TO BE CLIMBING WITH A LOT OF THINGS TO DO OUT HERE. ANYWHERE FROM 15 FEET UP TO 45 P UP IN THE AIR. I COURSES ARE TEND TO BE LOWER ON TO THE GROUND. AND THEN OUR ADVANCED COURSES ARE GOING TO BE ABOUT  >> ANYBODY CAN DO SKY WANT AS LONG AS YOU'RE 8 YEARS OLD, YOU'RE OLD ENOUGH TO DO SKY WHILE WE SEE ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF PEOPLE. I HEAR YOUNG TOLD EVERYBODY LOVES TO BE OUT HERE AND TALK TO THE SOUTH. ALL THE GREAT ACTIVITY FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS BECAUSE YOU REALLY GOING TO SEE PEOPLE THAT YOU LOVE CHALLENGE THEMSELVES AND OVERCOME OBSTACLES. YOU CAN BE PRETTY NERVOUS WHEN YOU FIRST GET OUT HERE. AND THEN WHEN YOU ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER ON AND WORK THROUGH IT TOGETHER, IT'S A BONDING EXPERIENCE. GROUPS ARE REALLY FUN TO HAVE OUT HERE PERSONALLY. I LOVE HAVING GROUP. IT'S A REALLY GOOD BODY EXPERIENCE, WHETHER IT'S A SCHOOL GROUP OR ITS A WORK GROUP. IT'S DEFINITELY A GOOD TIME TO JUST GET TO KNOW PEOPLE I LOVE SEEING MAYBE A YOUNGER KID COME UP AND THEY'RE SUPER NERVOUS FOR THE SUPER EXCITED. THE SAME TIME. >> AND THEN YOU SEE THEM BLOSSOM INTO THEMSELVES AND IT'S REALLY COOL. SEEING KIDS BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE OF THROUGHOUT THE COURSE. MY FAVORITE OBSTACLE IS ACTUALLY RIGHT OVER HERE ON INTERMEDIATE 3 IS CALM, ROLLER COASTER. IT IS JUST A BURMA THAT HAS A LARGE BASED UPON AND THE STAFF HERE HAVE A CHALLENGE TO SEE WHO CAN DO THE FASTEST. AND I PERSONALLY HAVE THE RECORD FOR 4, 4, 8, 3, SECONDS. SO I THINK THAT MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIASED. BUT I LOVE THAT ELEMENT TO THE SUPER FUN. I THINK THE MOST CHALLENGING ELEMENT IS THE LAST ELEMENT ON ADVANCED TO ITS CAUSE. IS REALLY LONG. SO I FIND THAT AND DURANT SAYS CAN BE CHALLENGING AS WELL AS IT TAKES A LOT OF LEG AND ARM STRENGTH. IT'S ALSO THE VERY END OF THE COURSE. SO YOU'RE PRETTY EXHAUSTED BY THE END. AND YOU GET TO THIS LAST BUT IT'S A NICE BALANCE TO FINISH IT OFF I THINK PEOPLE FEEL REALLY GREAT AND ECSTATIC WHEN THEY FINISH WITH THOSE HARD COURSES OF THIS REALLY PROUD OF THEMSELVES. THEY FEEL LIKE THEY REALLY PUSH THROUGH SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITIES. >> WHY WAS IT LIKE IT IS OUR NEW ADVENTURE HERE AT THE SCIENCE CENTER IS LOCATED BY THE CAROUSEL. THE 2 ZIP LINES THAT WE HAVE GO ACROSS LAKE SLOAN AND COUNTRY PARK. >> THIS IS SPENDING ABOUT 45 TO 50 P UP IN THE AIR GO ACROSS 650 TO 700 FEET. YOU CAN GO UP TO 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR, DEPENDING ON THE WIND REALLY AS SUPER EXHILARATING. >> SCOTT IS OPEN WEDNESDAYS THROUGH SUNDAYS. I'm meteorologist KD Campbell in the Wral Severe weather center, we tied the record high. 92 degrees was also our 1st 90 degree day of the year out at RDU. That typically happens around May 11th and we average about 290 degree days during the month of May. However, the normal high in early May is just 77. For comparison, the record was tied going back to 2010 for that record. Today. Tomorrow, we're forecasting 90 the record's 93 a long standing record set all the way back in 1959. Let's talk about the weekend. It is not going to be so hot this weekend, but we've got the chance for some scattered showers and storms and it's going to be feeling a bit more humid as we see more moisture moving in 83 on Saturday, 81 on Sunday. We have high resolution model data available for Saturday and that's giving us a better idea of the hour by hour rain chances. So we customize these numbers for you when we went through our afternoon forecast cycle, about a 20% chance of rain in the morning through noon. A 30% chance during the early afternoon and rain chances peak at 40% so scattered storms late in the afternoon and into the evening future casts gives you a good idea of what we could see for the day Friday. We're likely to see dry weather throughout the day hitting 90 for a high at night. We can't rule out a stray storm pushing into our western counties but only a 20% chance Saturday, The axis of heavier rain is likely to stay just west of us. We could see some scattered showers and storms later in the day. And then Sunday as that boundary shifts east, we'll have a better chance of rain and storms. These are still going to be scattered in nature. So we're going with about a 50% chance of storms Sunday. Let's talk about the drought update. This was updated today and it shows abnormally dry conditions in yellow are expanding across the state. We're not upgraded to moderate drought anywhere at this point, but the abnormally dry region expanded by 20% from last week to this week. So we really need some rain. Saturday. I'm thinking a quarter of an inch of rain or less. We could see a little bit more on Sunday and you'll have additional chances for scattered storms Monday and Tuesday after that, just smaller rain chances, but the heat is back by Wednesday and Thursday of next week. We've got a couple of 90 degree days on the horizon.

A procession honoring fallen officer Alden Elliot, an officer with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, will leave the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiners' Office and travel to Bennett Funeral Home in Newton on N.C. Highway 16. Elliot and three other officers were shot and killed Monday.
